TARA CANYON – RIVER RAFTING

River rafting in Tara Canyon, Montenegro, the worlds second deepest canyon. Tara, “The Tear of Europe” its pure drinkable water, opulent vegetation and wild life! River rafting scale, takes place at 3-5 and is among the most attractive rivers on the planet. Tara canyon is in the UNESCO register of World Natural Heritage, as unique in the world by 82 km and an average depth to approx 1000 m but the maximum depth is 1300 m.

RAFTING TARA HALF DAY TRIP

Three and half hours and 19 km rapids ride takes us through the attractive part of the canyon on the river Tara, from Kulina (Dobrilovina) to Šljivansko (Drugi logor). This tour will let you experience and see the whole canyon with biggest and most beautiful attracitions it has to offer. Above Dobrilovina extends mighty rocks – Tarske grede (Taras beams). During the rapids ride many interesting caves can be seen, like: Manastirska (Klosters cave, the first school in the region), Šalintrača (produced saltpetre for gunpowder) and others.

BOAT TRIP IN BAY OF KOTOR

Half day trip by boat cruising in the Bays of Kotor.  You will board a boat and pass by many small towns on these beautiful bays and visit the island of Gospa od Skrpjela (Our Lady of the rocks). This island was created by the people of Perast, on the spot where they sank captured enemy ships filled with stones. The little church on the island is a well-known holy place decorated with 68 frescoes. During the trip there is also a possibility to stop in wonderful Kotor city.

Boka  Bay, one of the world’s 25 most beautiful bays and  protected UNESCO World Heritage Site, is undeniably most impressive when approached from the sea.  Due to its unusual look, the bay is often called Europe`s southernmost fjord, but in fact it`s a submerged river canyon. The bay is composed of 4 smaller bays – Tivat, Herceg Novi, Risan and Kotor bay.

After meeting your licensed tour guide at the pier, you enjoy walking through the maze of Kotor’s medieval quarter, its bustling market and among beautiful Renaissance buildings. The well preserved fortified walls of Kotor protect it from the sea and at nearly 3 miles long it is considered one of the world’s historic values.
Your tour includes a visit to the Cathedral of St. Tryphon which was constructed in 1166 and built on the remains of a former temple from the 9th century. You will see the remains from 14th century frescoes and the valuable treasury with both local and Venetian golden works dating from the 14th to the 20th centuries.

This tour also includs a visit to the Maritime Museum where you see a unique collection representing maritime history of Boka (the Gulf of Kotor).
